California Task Force 3 (CA-TF3)
Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) training, a critical component of disaster response, focuses on the location, extrication, and initial medical stabilization of victims trapped in urban areas, particularly after structural collapses or other disasters. This training includes technical rescue skills, hazard identification, and team coordination .
CA-TF3 has over two hundred and ten (210) members, majority of these members are local firefighters from eighteen (18) agencies. However we do have over forty (40) of these members are civilians that among other things serve as our Physicians and Structural Engineers. For all of these members CA-TF3 is an 'extra duty' and they are specially trained as:
